Three Things Will Last Forever...

“Faith makes everything possible. Hope makes everything work. Love makes everything beautiful. May you have all three as you begin each day.”

A few years ago, when God called my husband and me out of our current jobs, we didn’t know what was coming next.

I quit my job to take care of my mom, who became ill, and my husband quit his job because he felt God calling him into some sort of ministry. So, there was a period of time between all of that and making our way back here to this radio station when we had no income. But one thing we did know was that if God called us, He would take care of us. We stood firm in that, and God came through. It was a tough, uncertain season of waiting for guidance from the Lord, but our faith in God helped us through.

Hebrews 11:1 – “Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.”

We are all hopeful for different things to happen in our lives. When things become uncertain or difficult, we are hopeful that all will work out in the end.

Putting our hope in God in seasons that are uncertain and difficult gives us confidence. Hope assures us that we can be confident in it because it’s in the Word of God. True hope comes from trusting God in all things. Hope in God will never lead us into despair because He has a plan for all who look to Him.

Romans 15:13 – “I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.”

God gives us the greatest example of love by sending Jesus to the earth to teach us and then to die for us. Jesus, as He walked this earth, demonstrated how to love in all ways. He was firm and corrected those who needed it. He was compassionate and always willing to help others. He gave His life for mine and yours because He loves us.

1 Corinthians 13:13 – “Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.”

1 Corinthians 13:4-5 – “Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”

This is the kind of love Jesus showed us while He was here, and we need to walk this kind of love out as well.
