About

Hi! I'm Rachel, morning show host and Music Director here at KJIC.

I went to Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma and graduated there with a bachelors degree in communications and music so this job really fulfills both of those degrees.

My husband and I got married in 2006 and

have 3 kids - 2 boys and a girl. We have fun and love spending time with each other.

I enjoy spending time with my family. We do a lot of fishing and being outside.

I worked at KJIC when I first graduated college. I was a stay at home mom 9 years. I worked in the medical field. Now God has called me back to KJIC to run this ministry with my husband Justin.

I have learned a lot throughout all these jobs and years, but always following the Lord's will has been the biggest thing I have learned.

Being back at KJIC is a blessing and I am so thankful to be here and to be able to bring encouragement to everyone who listens.

Being Guided vs Being Told
I cannot tell you how many times I was more willing to do something when someone wanted to guide me than when someone just told me what to do. This is human of us, right? We don’t like being told what to do, and when that does happen, we are more likely to become bitter and defiant. But if we are asked nicely and then guided, we will be more willing and obedient. Throughout the Bible, we read many passages where God and Jesus are very direct, but in that directness, there is guidance. It’s...

How Far Would You Be?
How Far Would You Be? This is something my dad would always jokingly ask. I would be walking away after a conversation, and he would call my name. I’d go back, and he’d smile and ask, “If I hadn’t called you back, how far would you be?” Let’s think about that question. If we started something today, how far would we be if we kept it up? When there is a new year, we often set new goals. These goals are ones that we either stick with, or they’re ones we start, get tired of, decide are too hard,...
