You’ve heard of ‘Take Your Kid to Work Day,’ right? Well, today, I’m declaring it Take Your Faith to Work Day! And not just today—but every day. Whether you’re at the office, in the classroom, behind the wheel, or running errands with a toddler on your hip, your faith is part of it.
God’s not just for Sundays and quiet times. He walks with us into the staff meetings, the customer complaints, the email chaos, and yes—even into traffic jams. So today, we’re talking about what it looks like to bring your faith into the 9-to-5 (or whatever your workday looks like) without being weird—but being wonderfully full of light.
Colossians 3:23 (NLT) — “Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.”
Let’s talk about people. Whether you love your coworkers or just pray to survive them, our faith calls us to something higher in every interaction.
A lot of times, how our day goes on determines how we feel—and our coworkers feel it too.
We’ve all had at least one coworker who tests our patience or tries to cause some drama. Me? I would do my best to avoid that person, but if you can’t, then we need to show grace and, of course, ask for wisdom.
Responding with grace sets you apart more than quoting scripture.
Faith at work isn’t just about surviving the day. It’s about seeing purpose in every task and knowing God uses all of it.
We are where we are for a reason. So no matter where you are and what your job is—every job can bring glory to God.
Your identity isn’t tied to your title, paycheck, or performance review. We can think that we have to perform perfectly to be seen that way, but really, it’s better to just be you.
Never underestimate your position—you’re placed there on purpose.
You’re not what your job says—you’re who God says you are.
From the morning rush to the evening clock-out, your faith doesn’t stay home. It is something that we carry with us all the time.
I’ve had many times in life where I felt like I left my hope at home, and I needed to seek out my faith because I needed to fix my mood. Especially when it came to getting everyone out the door in the morning. But one thing I made sure of was to pray with my kids before they got out of the car for school.
We all need a reset from time to time and turning to the Lord is the best way to do that.
As you go about each day, ask God how He wants to use you. Let your desk be a mission field. Your smile can be a sermon. And your faith is never off duty.
I know things will turn around for you when you seek the Lord to guide your day.
God doesn’t separate the sacred from the spreadsheet. It all matters.
Your attitude at work can reflect your heart for the Lord. So, it is very important for us to carry our faith with us in a bold way.
Working for the Lord means showing up with integrity, even when no one’s watching.
Colossians 3:23 (NLT) — “Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.”
Whether it’s wiping down tables, writing reports, or leading meetings—God’s watching more than your boss is.
Sometimes we can think that faith at work doesn’t mean preaching in the break room, but it does mean being ready to answer when someone asks why you’re different. It also means living out the fruits of the Spirit daily.
It can mean listening and going to prayer before replying and making sure that what you are doing is in line with what God has for you.
Have you had a moment where your faith helped you navigate a tough workday?
You never know—your grace under pressure might be the only Jesus your coworker sees that day.
Faith at work doesn’t have to be loud. It can be kind, consistent, and calm. Part of that comes from walking confidently, knowing that God will give you wisdom, understanding, and grace.
Be the person who brings peace to the break room—not just snacks.
I hope you feel encouraged to show up to work—not just with your lunchbox and your task list—but with your faith. Every day is Take Your Faith to Work Day, because God doesn’t clock out on us. Let’s bring our best, love people well, and serve like we’re working for Him—because we are. And hey, even on the hard days, you’ve got the best coworker in the universe walking with you.
