“Some things never change”, that is a phrase we say about people and situations. I don’t think we usually mean it in a good way but there is one person that does never change, that’s Jesus. So, let’s talk today about how Jesus never changes.
“Faith is the solid, unshakable confidence in God which is built upon assurance that He is faithful to His promises.” David Jeremiah
In any relationship that we have knowing that someone is stable and dependable. We want to know that we can count on them. So, we watch and listen and take note of it all. With Jesus there is already so much proof written about Him.
In Hebrews 13:8 it says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.”
So, if it is written and we can also experience things through our own lives, we can be confident to know that He will never change, He is consistent in all He does, and whatever He says is true. There aren’t too many surprises which are comforting to have in an ever-changing world.
God is the beginning and the end. He says who He is, and He never changes. We don’t fully comprehend that because we are always changing. We change our minds, our beliefs, and we are even surrounded by constant change. However, God’s characteristics and divine nature will never change.
Revelation 1:8 says, “I am the Alpha and the Omega—the beginning and the end,” says the Lord God. “I am the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come—the Almighty One.”
God's character does not change. God's purpose does not change, and his promises do not change either. The Bible testifies that God does not change in his promises.
I don’t know about you, but I am so thankful that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and for all future ages! With all the sweeping changes happening in the world right now, I thank God that Jesus isn’t one of them! Whoever He was in the past is who He is in the present and who He will be forever!
Malachi 3:6a says “I am the Lord, and I do not change.”
The Bible records not just 100, but more than 300 fulfilled promises in the first coming of Jesus Christ alone. How assuring it is to read God’s Word with confidence, knowing that from a verifiable past God has always kept His promises.
Thank you, Lord, for being an unchanging stable foundation in our lives.
