In a world where it’s easy to feel overlooked, dismissed, or even forgotten, it’s such a comfort to know that we are seen by the One who matters most: God.
Scripture tells us in Psalm 33:13-15, “The Lord looks down from heaven and sees the whole human race. From his throne, he observes all who live on the earth. He made their hearts, so he understands everything they do.” God sees us, knows us, and loves us for who we truly are.
Today, we’re going to explore what it means to be truly seen by God, how His love frees us from insecurity, and how we can live with confidence knowing that He’s always watching over us.
God sees you in the everyday moments, even the quiet or unnoticed ones.
Psalm 139:1-4 says, "O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do."
In the busyness of life, it’s easy to feel unnoticed. God, however, sees every little detail of our lives. He knows our thoughts, our struggles, our joys, and even when we feel invisible to the world. His attention to us is constant, and His care is personal.
There are many stories in the Bible that we can look to when thinking about being seen by God, but one is the story about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. They paid no attention to what King Nebuchadnezzar had decreed about worshiping him and prayed to the Lord, and in that decision, the King had them thrown into a fiery furnace, but the Lord saw them and protected them when they were thrown into the fire. In their faithfulness to the Lord, they were saved.
Take time today to reflect on the small moments where God is with you — when you're working, resting, or even just thinking. Appreciate His presence in those quiet, unnoticed times.
What is one small moment today where you can remember God sees you?
God’s care for us is not based on our significance in the world’s eyes, but on our value to Him.
This is made known with this scripture from Luke 12:6-7, which says, "What is the price of five sparrows—two copper coins? Yet God does not forget a single one of them. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows."
Even the smallest details of our lives — like the number of hairs on our head — matter to God. We can take comfort in knowing that God sees us as valuable and important.
When you feel overlooked or insignificant, remind yourself that God values you deeply. You are seen, and you are loved.
How does knowing that God cares for you deeply change the way you view yourself?
When I’m going about my day to day, I don’t think of it, and I don’t feel like I’m seen much, but I know when I purposely think about it, I am overwhelmed by it.
Psalm 139:1-4 speaks of God’s intimate knowledge of us—He knows our thoughts, actions, and words even before we speak to them, showing His constant presence and care. Luke 12:6-7 reassures us that even the sparrows, seemingly insignificant, are cared for by God, and we are much more valuable to Him. Together, these verses highlight God’s attentive care for us, emphasizing that He knows and values us deeply, even in the unnoticed moments of our lives.
Embrace the idea that you are never invisible to God. Every thought, feeling, and action is seen and known by Him.
God sees us not just in our highlights, but in our quiet, everyday moments. You are never invisible to Him.
The freedom in being fully seen by God and in embracing our worth and identity knowing God sees us for who we truly are.
John 4:13-14 says, "Jesus replied, 'Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.’”
The Samaritan woman at the well had a life filled with shame, but Jesus saw her as more than her past. It changed everything about her and how she lived life once she knew she was seen by God.
When we realize that God sees us completely — with all our flaws, hurts, and strengths — we can experience true freedom and healing. God's love doesn’t overlook our struggles. It transforms them.
Reflect on areas of your life where you feel unworthy or unseen. Invite God to speak truth into those areas, reminding you that He sees you, knows you, and loves you.
Isaiah 43:1 says, “But now, O Jacob, listen to the Lord who created you. O Israel, the one who formed you says, 'Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine.’”
God’s love is personal — He calls us by name and claims us as His own.
When we know we are fully known and loved, we can walk in confidence and freedom, because no matter what our past looks like, we are seen, loved, and redeemed by God.
Write down a verse that reminds you that God calls you by name. Whenever you feel forgotten, read it aloud to yourself as a reminder of His personal love for you.
One that I have on repeat in my mind is Isaiah 41:10, which says, “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”
When I say this, I am focused on God’s strength and knowing that He will see me and help me.
How does God's personal love for you change the way you view your identity?
John 4:13-14 speaks of Jesus offering living water, which quenches our deepest thirst and gives eternal life. Isaiah 43:1 assures us that God has called us by name, declaring that we are His, deeply loved and cherished. Together, these verses emphasize that God sees us not just as individuals, but as His beloved children, whom He knows intimately, values deeply, and has called to Himself with purpose and love.
Walk in the confidence of their identity in Christ, knowing they are fully seen, fully loved, and fully redeemed. Being fully seen by God means stepping into the freedom of knowing we are loved, accepted, and called by name.
Living with purpose and confidence, knowing God sees us and empowers us.
Galatians 2:20 says, "My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."
Knowing that God sees us fully gives us the courage to live boldly for Him because our identity is no longer defined by our past mistakes, but by Christ who lives in us.
When we live in Christ, we live in the freedom of knowing we are seen and empowered to walk in His purpose.
What is one area where you need to trust God more fully, knowing He sees you and empowers you?
Identify one area in your life where you need to live more boldly, knowing God sees and empowers you. Take a step of faith in that area today.
We are chosen by God — a royal priesthood, His very own possession.
1 Peter 2:9 says, "But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light."
Living in the light of God’s love and seeing ourselves as He sees us empowers us to fulfill His purpose. We are seen, chosen, and called to make a difference. When we know we are chosen by God and seen by Him fully, we become confident because we feel truly understood and seen, and in that, we are able to go and do all He has called us to do.
How can you live today as someone who is chosen and called by God?
Reflect on the truth that you are chosen by God.
Galatians 2:20 declares that we have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer we who live, but Christ who lives in us, highlighting our new identity in Him. 1 Peter 2:9 reminds us that we are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, called to declare the praises of God, who has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light. Together, these verses emphasize our identity in Christ, empowering us with boldness and purpose to live out His calling and share His glory with the world.
Embrace the truth that they are seen, chosen, and empowered to live confidently in God’s plan.
Living with the confidence that God sees us gives us the courage to live boldly for Him, fulfilling His purpose in our lives.
I hope you’ve been encouraged to live in the freedom and confidence of being seen by God. You are not invisible — you are seen, loved, and empowered by the Creator of the universe. As you go about your day, remember that you are always seen, valued, and chosen.
