What are you passing on? When we leave conversations, when raising your children or grandchildren or just helping out a stranger. Are you leaving good things behind?
Do you feel confident that God was seen in you by others no matter what you are doing?
Ephesians 4:21-24 - Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.
I want to make sure I am representing Christ to others…No matter who I am contact with I want to leave them seeing the joy I have because of God. I don’t want my circumstances to be what is leading me in the life, I have the joy of the Lord to be what leads me. I think if I live with that mind set then I will pass on or leave conversations with people seeing that.
We all strive for things and following God to lead the way is a big one. As parents we want to make sure our kids are set up for life to be able to handle what comes their way. When we are having conversations, we want our words to be wise. When we comfortable with who we are as a person and who we are in Christ we walk and talk a little differently. Confidence in Christ shows through. Sure, the world may be hitting us hard, but we are standing firm.
That is something worth passing on…. showing others that you are on a firm foundation of faith and not letting the world around you bring you down into the sinking sand.
We learn things through our life and we unlearn things through our life but no matter what God is constant and the firm foundation we need.
I hope that I am leaving behind things that God would be proud of.
Colossians 3:17 – And whatever you do or say do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.
This is how I really want to be seen – a representative of Jesus. No matter how silly or sarcastic or serious I am I want God to shine through it all. I don’t want to get caught up in the conversation and regret saying something I shouldn’t have. I strive to be aware of my words and actions…though I fail at times, God is still working on me, and I am making progress.
Progress… moving forward with God in the lead. The only way to really walk this life if you ask me. This is what I want to be seen…God as the lead of my life.
