Jesus Walked Everywhere
Think about it. No chariot, no camel Uber, not even a scooter. He walked from town to town, person to person. Not rushed. Not distracted. He walked, and while He walked, He met people. That says a lot about His pace—and His priorities.
Today is all about slowing down, walking with Jesus, and realizing that sometimes the journey is the ministry. We’re looking at what it means to walk out our faith—step by step, just like Jesus did.
Luke 24:15 (NLT) – “As they talked and discussed these things, Jesus himself suddenly came and began walking with them.”
Jesus walked, and people were healed, encouraged, and changed along the way. So why are we so rushed?
Luke 8:42–48 – The woman with the issue of blood touched Jesus while He was walking. While this was happening, people were crowded around Him, and the disciples were trying to protect Him and rush Him through the crowd. But as soon as the woman touched Him, He stopped and took time to find out from her what was happening. He didn’t care about anyone else in that moment—He knew that He couldn’t rush past this.
That’s the thing—Jesus didn’t speed past people. He stopped. He saw them.
Build in that margin today. Don’t rush through people. Make room for whatever comes.
Who or what in your life do you usually rush past?
Jesus walked everywhere, and in Luke 24:13–15—after the resurrection—Jesus walked with the disciples and revealed Himself slowly.
Jesus walks with us even when we don’t recognize Him. So, let’s ask Jesus to open our eyes along the journey today. Let’s be open to seeing Him and what He has for us.
Sometimes we’re just too focused on the destination to see Jesus walking beside us.
What do we need to do to make changes? What can we release so that we don’t lose focus?
Who are you “walking” through life with—coworkers, family, friends?
Choose to be present in each interaction you have with those you walk with—and with anyone God puts in your path today.
Don’t just rush through life missing all that God has, and the grace, mercy, and love we can hand out to others.
Now we’re walking a little deeper. Let’s talk about the roads we travel, the habits we form, and how we follow Jesus in the everyday.
Luke 24:15 (NLT) – “As they talked and discussed these things, Jesus himself suddenly came and began walking with them.”
We don’t need to see the whole road—just the next faithful step.
What helps us stay faithful is to share or dive into God’s Word through every season.
Jesus discipled as He walked—He saw lessons in everyday moments and shared them.
Psalm 119:105 – “Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.”
Start your day with one intentional, faith-filled step. You can do that through encouragement. You don’t need to wait for the perfect time to encourage someone.
What small, faithful step can you take today, and who are you pouring into during your journey?
There will be times when the road is long, and it’s good for us to remember that Jesus didn’t just walk the short distances—He journeyed through tough terrain.
But those long seasons are still holy. Don’t despise the slow work God is doing.
Do you remember a time when the road seemed long, but God showed up?
It’s in those times we can look back and have hope that we’ll continue to make it through.
Luke 24:15 (NLT) – “As they talked and discussed these things, Jesus himself suddenly came and began walking with them.”
What does it really mean to walk with Jesus today—in Houston traffic, at home, or at work?
As we go about our daily activities, we need to remember that walking with Jesus isn’t just spiritual—it’s personal and present.
Where do you need Jesus’ presence most today?
Galatians 5:25 – “Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.”
Sometimes walking with Jesus means surrendering our fast pace for His steady one.
I lived in both big and small cities until I got married. We built a house in the country when we were first married, and the change in just the sounds was so different for me. But once I got used to being out where we are, I really took on that slower pace—and now I wouldn’t change it for anything.
I find it so much more peaceful to take it slow and steady. The Lord knew my spirit needed peace, and that’s what He led me to.
Jesus made miracles happen on the road—not just at the destination.
Oftentimes, it’s on the journey where changes and miracles take place, and if we’re in a rush to get to the destination, we can miss every one of those.
This reminds us to always be looking for holy moments in the mundane.
What is an everyday moment that God has turned into something sacred for you?
Remember this: Jesus isn’t just waiting at the finish line—He’s walking beside you now. Through the long days, the small errands, the quiet drives, and yes—even in the grocery line. You’re never alone. So take it slow, walk with Him, and trust that every step is filled with purpose.
