Growth & Fulfillment

We are always going to be in process with God as we continually move forward in His imagine and draw closer to Him.

Quote by Jonathan Srock - “Just as we grow in faith in Jesus, we also grow in the faith. It’s important for us to know and understand Christian doctrine. These are the truths that guide our lives and help us in our times of need. Plus, they keep us from error in our lives and walk with Jesus.”

After you are saved, your goal is to grow in your relationship with Jesus, with other Christ followers, in godliness, and to work out your salvation.

When we ask God to help us and reveal to us all the things we need to work on so that we can grow closer to Him, you better be prepared to put the work in because when you ask, He will show you.

Philippians 2:13 says, “For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.”

I have asked the Lord to show me things I needed to work on many times, and some of those times I thought I had done what I needed to do, only to realize I didn’t complete, it was only paused until the Lord knew I was ready to complete the process. It is important for us to walk out each step fully in the process to fully receive the healing and growth God is giving us.

John 15:5 says, “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.”

As we abide in Him, He produces the fruit in us that pleases Him. In the Bible, fruit can refer to character development and deeds. We want to please Jesus in both.

For a period of time in my life, I would do things and try to be as helpful as possible to make sure others were pleased and knew that I was there if they needed me. I was never fully satisfied with the acceptance and acknowledgment I would get because I set my expectations too high and because I was seeking that kind of fulfillment from people and not God.

God showed me that I needed to change that, and so I have come to learn through the process of God working in me that true fulfillment in all things comes from God. So, I now welcome the process of the Lord in my life because I know He is the way to true fulfillment in this life. This is a process that will continue the rest of my life.

God uses the process of Christian growth to lead us and guide us to where He wants us to be physically, mentally, and emotionally. This is to help teach us and to also mature us in our faith. When we are able to focus, we find it easier to rely on God and on the process without question because we know God only wants the best for us and wants us to grow in our relationship with Him.

2 Timothy 3:14-17 says, “But you must remain faithful to the things you have been taught. You know they are true, for you know you can trust those who taught you. You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.”

Hold fast to what God teaches you daily and through every season, as this process is what will bring you closer to Him, and in that, your faith, hope, trust, and love will also grow.
