God is Our Oasis

In the middle of life’s deserts, when everything feels dry, overwhelming, and exhausting, God offers us a place of rest, refreshment, and renewal. In Psalm 107:35 it says, “But he also turns deserts into pools of water, the dry land into springs of water.”

Life can be so busy, so overwhelming at times, that it feels like we’re wandering through a desert—thirsty for peace, longing for rest. But the good news is that God offers us exactly that. He’s our oasis in the middle of life’s chaos.

One verse that really speaks to this is Psalm 23:1-3, which says, “The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.” These verses paint such a beautiful picture of God leading us to a place of rest and renewal, like a shepherd guiding his sheep to green pastures and quiet waters. This scripture brings a sense of comfort to me… when I have felt that I could not make it I need the reassurance that God would see me through and bring the renewal that was needed for me to either continue or start something new.

No matter what you’re going through, God invites you to come to Him and find rest. Maybe you’re dealing with stress at work, challenges at home, or just the everyday pressures of life. Whatever it is, you don’t have to carry it all on your own. God is right there, offering to refresh your soul and give you the peace that only He can provide.

So, take a moment to pause and let God be your oasis. Spend some time in His presence and let Him fill you with His peace and strength.

You know, life can sometimes feel like we’re walking through a desert, facing one challenge after another. But even in those moments, God’s presence is like an oasis that brings us the peace and strength we need to keep going.

This scripture speaks of this it is Isaiah 58:11: “The Lord will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring.” This verse is such a powerful reminder that no matter how dry or barren our circumstances might feel, God is there to refresh us, to pour His living water into our lives, and to renew our strength.

When my kids were young being a stay-at-home mom left me feeling drained, lonely and weary, but it was when I focused on the fact that God called me to be a SAHM during that season so I could focus on my kids that it helped me to reset my thoughts and not see things as overwhelming but to see it as being a blessing.

Listen, it’s easy to feel drained when we’re dealing with difficulties. But God promises to be with us, to guide us, and to provide exactly what we need, just when we need it. He’s our oasis in the desert, our source of life and hope.

If you’re feeling weary today, remember that God is with you, ready to restore your soul and give you the strength to keep moving forward. You don’t have to face your challenges alone—God is your ever-present help, your oasis in the midst of it all.

God being our oasis—our place of peace and renewal in the midst of life’s challenges. But here’s something important to remember we need to intentionally draw near to God to experience Him as our oasis. Just like finding a real oasis in the desert requires us to seek it out, we need to seek God, spend time in His presence, and allow Him to refresh our souls.

One verse that really resonates with this idea is James 4:8: “Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.” This verse invites us to draw near to God, to seek Him with our whole heart, and promises that when we do, He will draw near to us. It’s in His presence that we find the true oasis—peace, comfort, and renewal.

But how do we draw near to God? It can be as simple as taking a few minutes to pray, read scripture, or just sit quietly in His presence, letting His peace wash over you. It’s about making space in our busy lives to connect with Him, to listen for His voice, and to receive the rest He offers.

No matter how dry or difficult life may seem, God is always there, ready to refresh your soul and give you the strength you need.

I encourage you to take a moment to seek God, to draw near to Him, and to let Him be your oasis in whatever you’re facing. He’s always there, ready to meet you with open arms and to refresh your soul.
