Galatians 5:22-23 - But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these!
Susan and I are discussing the Fruits of the Spirit this week in the Rise and Shine Morning Show and today we started of with the first one - Love.
The love that we have and that we share is not something that is easy...mostly because people are not always easy. Jesus talked about love over and over during His ministry on this earth. He shows us how to be love to others.
Jesus' story is the greatest love story there is. Since the beginning God has shown his love for man. He had such great grace and mercy. God then through His love sent His son...our redeemer, who would come and save all the people.
Jesus was sent as the final sacrifice for sin. We are to ask for forgiveness through Him in order to live eternally in heaven.
John 3:16 tells us, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Jesus taught us how to love our neighbor through the parable of the Good Samaritan. He taught us how to love those who saw as sinners or those less than. Through the woman at the well or tax collectors he talked with.
Through Jesus we see that lives are changed when we show love.
Love is the umbrella to these fruits of the spirit for when we show love we are then intern showing and living out the rest of the fruits.
Love is powerful and it can change so much. Let's remember Jesus' example and show so love to those around us.
