Galatians 5:22-23 - But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these!
Today on the Rise and Shine Show Susan and I discussed Joy and Peace.
Joy is an inner feeling and then happiness in the outward showing of that.
Peace is rest, quiet or a stillness in your heart.
We put these together not because the Holidays are around the corner but because we think when you have peace then you are more joyous.
The Bible tells us to "count it all joy", even through trials... that seems to be a daunting task but it is achievable.
The Fruits of the Spirit are within us because the Holy Spirit gives them to us and He is always with us. It is just a matter of cultivating them.
There are times in life where we are seeking peace. We need that comfort, that break, that relief. We all face trials and the only way we will get the peace we seek in through the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Throughout the Bible, fullness of joy is found in the presence of the Lord.
Peace pushes through all circumstances and gives your the ability to endure and even be calm in those circumstances.
Think of a time you didn't think you would make it through but you did. What brought you that peace? What brought back your joy?
When I lost my dad and had to deal with a lot of stuff that comes with that and then also continuing daily life I felt like I went into survival mode and lost my joy.
It wasn't until I went on a retreat that I was able to really get my joy back because I found the peace in the Lord that I had been seeking.
I encourage you to go and read about joy and peace and let God work through you.
