I was talking with my kids about school...as it's a new school year. I was advising them to go online and check their school emails so see when meet the teacher is.....our kids do an online public school program so they are "homeschooled".
But just me telling them to go check their emails, you would have thought would have been like me telling them to take out the trash or even clean their rooms....drama...
I'm sure all the parents out there can relate to what I'm talking about. I know you know that once school starts the mornings get more hectic and you make even get a few, "I don't wannas", from the kids....which of course make things so much better, right?....right...
It's the reality of the school year the kids mornings change, your morning routine changes. It can feel crazy just getting out the door.
But as parents the one things we can do for our kids is make sure they get out of the house or the car with some encouragement to help them get through the day. When we were doing the public school thing with our kids we would pray on the way to the school. If your kids ride the bus pray before they get on the bus. If you are a homeschool family pray at breakfast. The other thing I would do before they got out of the car I would say, remember to please be sweet, be kind and be helpful. I wanted them to be mindful of who they are and what they were doing and saying through out the day. But mainly no matter what happened before school or in the craziness before getting out the door I wanted to make sure their day start
out great.
Roman 15:13 says, I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.
As you share love and encouragement with your kids they will be filled with joy as their day starts and they will then intern share that joy with others.
