Bountiful Results

Have you ever worked so hard on something and wondered, “Is this even worth it?” Maybe you’re planting seeds of kindness, faith, or obedience and waiting... and waiting...
Well, today we’re talking about “Bountiful Results”—how God brings a harvest in His perfect timing when we stay faithful.
So, whether you're already seeing fruit or still watering dry ground, let’s dig into how we keep sowing in faith.
Our main scripture is Galatians 6:9 (NLT): “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”
What does it really mean to sow and reap?
It’s easy to get discouraged, but just like a farmer doesn’t dig up the seed every day to check on it, we have to trust the process. That’s hard because we feel like we are planting but getting no results, simply because we can’t see what’s going on.
That’s the thing about faith—it isn’t flashy. It’s usually quiet, steady, and often invisible for a while.
But just like wildflowers bloom after long rains, your obedience today grows something beautiful tomorrow, even if it’s behind the scenes.
Here’s what I do when it comes to planting things... I plant them, and I’m good about being mindful and watering them at first... Then I just forget after a while. Then I look at the plants and think, I need to water those, and then I get up to do something else and forget to water them.
The same can happen if we aren’t diligent with our spiritual life… we can just forget. But if we are consistent and tend to our spiritual lives—through prayer, Scripture, and community—it produces results we can’t manufacture.
Have you ever kept doing good, even when it was hard, and later saw God's blessing come through?
It is such a blessing when we can reap the harvest, and one thing to remember in our consistency is that God never wastes obedience. Not one prayer, not one act of kindness. Keep sowing. Keep loving. You may not see the harvest yet—but it’s coming.
You’ve been sowing good seeds, and you’re wondering when those results will show up. Sometimes it takes longer than expected. But remember—just because it’s delayed doesn’t mean it’s denied.
Think about how long it takes for a tree to grow. Strong roots go deep before fruit appears. Our faith walk is the same—growth may be slow, but it’s steady.
We have these two citrus trees in our yard. They’ve been there for about eight years, I think, and they’re still not very tall, and they don’t produce fruit. I’ve heard that these trees take a long time before producing anything and that they are slow growers… Of course, when we got them, we didn’t know that.
Slow and steady is sometimes exactly what is needed when it comes to the production of fruit—and in the waiting, the Lord prepares us.
What are you sowing? Take a look at your day-to-day: Are you sowing love or irritation? Patience or pressure? The seeds we plant matter because what we sow is what we eventually reap.
So, when you think about your day, at the end of the day—as we often do—be in prayer. Let it be a prayer of thankfulness, of gratitude, and of repentance as we do our best to sow good seeds for the Lord. Your faithfulness is not overlooked by God.
Galatians 6:9 (NLT): “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”
We can overthink what it looks like to sow good seeds in life, but I think we can keep it simple. Sow encouragement through a text. Sow joy by playing uplifting music. Sow patience by pausing before reacting. Little seeds grow big trees.
These practical tips help us learn to grow our roots in order to sow good things in everyday life and to also show God to others by what we are doing and saying.
Keep your focus on the Lord, and you will never fail to sow and reap bountifully.
Now let’s talk about how bountiful results aren't always what we expect—but they’re always better when God’s in charge.
Sometimes you think you’re planting cucumbers and end up with sunflowers! God’s ways are higher than ours. What feels like a detour may just be the direct route to something greater.
Galatians 6:9 (NLT): “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”
When looking for bountiful results, we need to keep sowing even in dry seasons.
Of course, it’s easy to sow when life is good, but what about when you’re tired or discouraged? Galatians 6:9 tells us—don’t give up. Because the harvest doesn’t come if we stop sowing.
I think when we are in a dry season, our joy wavers. But when we keep getting into the Word and drawing close to God, we can seek joy and stay in it—because as we all know, the harvest is great, but there’s joy in the growing too. Think about the little wins—answered prayers, encouragement, peace in chaos. These are the sprouts of your faithfulness.
You might not see it yet, but your obedience is doing something powerful. The bountiful results are on the way—trust the Sower, trust the process, and keep showing up.
As we wrap up today, don’t be discouraged if the ground still looks bare. Keep planting. Keep watering. Keep trusting. God promises a harvest in due time.. Keep planting. Keep watering. Keep trusting. God promises a harvest in due time.
