Let’s start off with a prayer for all those starting school, no matter their role.
“Lord, thank You for the gift and opportunity of education that You have given our students. Watch them as they head back to school this year. Protect them from harm, and open their eyes, ears and mind to new experiences, opportunities and lessons. Guide them to make good choices. Lord, I also want to thank You for the gift of our children and the opportunities they have for their education. Please be with all of us parents, help us during this busy season. Give us the strength to persevere through this time and be present with our children as much as possible right now. Watch over each of us and guide us to give our children the right words and support as they enter this school year. Lord, we thank You for the gift of those who chose to educate our children. Help them to hold on to the passion you have gifted them with. Be with them when they struggle and when they celebrate victories in and outside the classroom. Give them patience and understanding of their students this school year and every year. Thank you, Lord, for all the protection and provisions. Amen."
There’s something so refreshing about new beginnings, isn’t there? A new school year is a chance for a fresh start, new goals, and new opportunities. But with all the excitement can come a bit of nervousness too. That’s totally normal!
Back to school is bittersweet for all involved. It can call for busy mornings and hectic afternoons. But one thing we need to remember is to encourage our kids all along the way. They are taking in a lot of information, dealing with different social aspects and then decompressing at the end of the day. I remember when my kids were younger the ride home from school was not good. After not seeing each other all day and being around others kids the last thing my kids wanted was to be dealing with their siblings. Our kids take on a lot during their school days.
A great scripture for new beginnings is Isaiah 43:19, where God says, “For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” God is always doing something new in our lives, even when we can’t see it right away. As you step into this new school year, trust that God is paving the way for you, opening doors, and creating new opportunities.
So, whether you’re excited or a little anxious about the year ahead, know that God is with you. Embrace this new beginning with confidence and remember that He’s got great plans for you!
Remember that God is with you and will give you peace as you start this school year.
We are back around to school starting which means morning routines are going to be a little all over the place for a week or so and then you’ll get back into the swing on things.
Now, let’s be honest—every school year comes with its own set of challenges. Maybe it’s a tough class, a new school, or just the pressure to do well. But here’s the good news: we don’t have to face these challenges on our own.
Philippians 4:13 is such a powerful reminder: “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” That’s right—everything! Whether you’re facing a difficult subject, a new environment, or any kind of challenge, God is there to give you the strength you need to overcome it.
So, when those tough moments come—and they will—remember to lean on God. Pray for His guidance, ask for His strength, and trust that He will carry you through. With God’s help, you can face anything this school year throws your way!
We’ve talked about students and their new beginnings, but I want to take a moment to encourage the parents and teachers out there too.
Parents, I know this time of year can be stressful. You’re juggling schedules, helping with homework, and making sure everything is ready for a successful year. But remember this: Proverbs 22:6 says, “Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.” The time and love you invest in your children are planting seeds that will grow for a lifetime. So, take a deep breath, and know that God is guiding you as you guide them.
And to all the teachers out there, you have such an important role in shaping the minds and hearts of the next generation. Galatians 6:9 encourages us with these words: “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.” Your hard work and dedication are making a difference, even on the tough days. Keep going God sees your efforts and will bless your work.
