One definition to Acclimation is adjusting to a new climate or situation. Another way of thinking about it is Conforming which means to act according to or be obedient to a rule or norm…
I say the acclimation of our lives is when we conform to the world and not stand firm to what God wants us to do.
Let’s talk about acclimation today as per Christians as we are in the world but not to be of the world.
If we allow our circumstances and surroundings to control or change our attitudes and thought process, then how can we know how God is leading us to? When we are bombarded by the circumstance and not focused on God’s solution we can acclimate to the problem instead of asking God for His perspective.
Psalm 18:2 says, "The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety."
When we have allowed our circumstances to take over, we forget that the Lord is our rock, and He is here protecting us and ready to guide us. When we read the word and ask God for help, we are more eager to conform to what He has for us.
We can become so hyper focused on all we have to do in life that we have now taken our thoughts and eyes off what God has planned for us and conformed to the busyness of the world. We allow the acclimation of busyness to be our striving force.
Romans 12:2 says, “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
This scripture is the best one for us to lean of and follow when we feel like life is overwhelming us and we may even feel stuck where we are. Sometimes that feeling of being stuck is because we have become accustomed to the things of this world.
Acclimate to the voice of God not to the noise of the world.
Sometimes we can be so focused on what we want to do in life, even in what God may have for us, that when something comes up it can really throw us off and overwhelm us.
We don’t need acclimate to our surroundings and circumstances. God has set you apart and use you and we need to really acclimate to His voice to know our next step.
Philippians 4:13 says, “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”
Life is not pretty or easy, but we can have a small amount of hope that we can make wise choices with our thoughts, actions, and reactions. We have to be honest with ourselves and be willing to learn and restructure. t o be willing to not confirm to the world and acclimate ourselves to thinking about things above and seeing our thoughts on what God has for us.
Taking steps to be saturated in all He has for us and not over come by the things of the world is what is needed and this kind of focus and willingness will help us to accomplish all God has for us.
