Trust, Seek, Obey, be Generous, Share, Faithfulness

Trusting the Lord. Seeking His righteousness. Being obedient to His word. Being generous with our lives and resources. Sharing the gospel. Walking by faith.

As we do these, we learn who our source and provider of all things is. God.

All of these are something we can handle and walk with in life. Some may be more difficult than others from time to time but still something when looking at them individually can be done.

When we have chosen to walk with the Lord, we have chosen all of these. They are coinciding together and bring our focus to God.

God has given us so many examples to show we can trust Him and in Him.

I was going through a difficult time a few years back and I had a choice to make and so I chose to trust the Lord during the process. Through that one choice my thought process changed. It changed from what I knew, saw, and felt to what the Lord was guiding me to know, see and feel.

It is in those times of complete struggle we can read the scripture Proverbs 3:5 – Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. And really start to know exactly what that scripture says.

The Lord knows and will help you through you need not carry it all and we need to do is seek Him in all things.

Obeying…what a word.

When raising kids, especially when they are toddlers, we see as they test things.

You can have a 2- or 3-year-old try something, you tell them no, they stare at you and proceed to do what you said no to.

We do the same as adults. We go to God for guidance and yet sometime don’t obey what He has said. Especially when it is a clear yes or no. It like we asked, he answered and then we just stand there staring at Him and then do the opposite of what He said.

To be obedient to the Lord means sacrificing your will and doing His.

Joshua 1:8 says, Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.

When we obey the Lord, we will prosper.

To be generous and share go hand in hand. We want to share what we have and the greatest thing we can share is our faith. We are called by God the share the Good News of the faith.

Mark 16:15-16 says, “And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned.”

Sharing with others is how we connect and if we can connect by sharing what the Lord has done for us, we have come together as God intended for the Church to connect. Praising the Lord and sharing His Good News is what we are meant to do.
