The Lord is Our Fulfillment

“In His divine wisdom, God built spiritual hunger and spiritual thirst into the heart of every human being. Everyone is seeking fulfillment, hope, and meaning and purpose. Whether they know it or not, there's a void in their soul that can only be filled by God. Every day you'll wake up hungry and thirsty, and every day, you'll chase after something in the hopes of satisfaction.”

Have you ever gone for a run and suddenly felt the desire for a big drink and to catch your breath, but you kept going because you weren't near water or a chair?

That can be what it’s like when seeking to nourish your soul and spirit. You're in desperate need of refreshment and rest, but you keep pushing forward because you think there's no time to stop. However, the Lord is with you in all things and at all times, so you can pause and find the fulfillment and rest needed from Him.

Psalm 42:1 states, "As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God."

We seek water, and God is the one who can fully quench our thirst.

We are eager to improve ourselves, often turning to books and seeking guidance from others, which is commendable. Seeking help is essential for better understanding.

Personally, I've read many books in an attempt to connect with something that could help me understand better. While some books did provide assistance, it was when I turned to God for even more fulfillment and to help fill the voids that things truly started to come together, and I experienced understanding and healing simultaneously.

Isaiah 55:3 says, “Come to me with your ears wide open. Listen, and you will find life. I will make an everlasting covenant with you. I will give you all the unfailing love I promised to David.”

There is one who can aid us even more in this process of healing, and that is God.

Psalm 63:1-5 – “O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water. I have seen you in your sanctuary and gazed upon your power and glory. Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you! I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer. You satisfy me more than the richest feast. I will praise you with songs of joy.”

Seek the Lord in the hard times. Seek God even when you are just doing mundane things. Seek God at all times. His unfailing love surpasses anything, and knowing that brings comfort. Seek the Lord, and He will provide you with the fulfillment you need.
