Move Forward With Confidence

“Trust that the Lord will help you move forward and guide you to make the best choices. Let your faith be your motivation, and don’t dwell on the past. Instead, focus on what’s ahead of you and move forward with confidence in Christ.”

Moving forward from the past is sometimes easy.... and sometimes not so much.

Yesterday I was outside playing around the world, a fun basketball game, with my kids and at one point we were all stuck in different spots on the driveway trying to make the shots we needed to move forward in the game.

We were stuck in these spots for like 10-15 minutes and then finally one of my sons made the shot he needed and was able to move forward and win.

We all move at different paces in life and just because someone who was in one place for so long trying to work things out moves on before you are able to move forward does not mean you won’t at some point. It just means it was their time to go to the next step.

Proverbs 16:3 says, Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and will be establish your plans.

The past…we learn from it and hold on to things so we can remember and know how to continue forward. Sometimes when we are holding on to things from the past, we grasp stuff we should have let go of.

I was in college, and something was brought to my attention that I didn’t even realize I needed to let go of but once it was shown to me by some friends, I knew I had to figure out the why I was still holding on to it. I tried to figure it out on my own, which I was no help to myself. I finally went to God, and he helped me to see and understand the why and I was able to heal and move forward. It took me a bit but with God help I made it through and then I was able to talk with my friends and apologize and thank them.

Isaiah 43:18 says, Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

Moving forward from the pain of the past takes time. We may even think that we worked through and healed from things in the past just to having something resurface. Thankfully we the out Father God will guide us through.

Isaish 40:31 – Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Anytime I am walking through the hard I go to this scripture. It is one of my favorite scriptures. It reminds me that no matter what the Lord is my hope and strength.

Healing and moving forward from the past can be painful. That pain is the healing that God is walking you through to strengthen you and to bring you to what He has for you. He is preparing you and letting you know that you will make it through.

So, as it says in Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heard and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
