God is in Every Moment

“Life is full of ordinary moments that might seem routine. But what if each held an opportunity to meet with God? No matter what fills your day-to-day, you can experience holy ground right where you are because God is there, waiting for you at the intersection of ordinary and divine.”

We wake up and start moving, and we don’t stop until we hit the bed at night… or at least it can feel that way. Our mind is always racing, so we feel like we have no breaks, and our joy can diminish. The rush of the day can distract us from resting for even just a moment and seeking God.

In the Bible, God tells us to rest, and in that, we can refill ourselves, reflect on the day, and find joy by seeing Him in all things.

Psalm 23:1-2 The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams.

Seeking God in every moment of the day can help us realize that He is with us in all we do. If we seek Him in all that we have to do, things may not seem as overwhelming. When we do all things for God, we will find joy in it all.

Some days, I think, 'Okay, I can do this, this, and this, and I won’t be that busy.' Then, before I know it, I haven’t sat down, and I’ve been moving and doing more than I expected to. Then, by the end of the day, I’m exhausted. I just want to be left alone and rest before bed. Before I know it, I’ve worked myself into a state of grumpiness and just want to disconnect from everything.

But then, as I sit there, I reflect and realize everything I did had a purpose, and God allowed me to get those things done. He helped me through it all.

Let’s not get caught up in the exhaustion we feel at the end of the day, but reflect back and see and acknowledge what God helped us do and accomplish.

Colossians 3:17 - And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.

What a great scripture to remember and pray over us before we start the day and even in the midst of our day.

My three kids are really close in age, so by the time I had my youngest, we had three kids under the age of four. My days were so hectic, and I would feel so weary. By the time I made dinner and my husband came home, I was ready to be done. But the day wasn’t over.

There were days I thought I couldn’t do it anymore. Then, there were days I could see love, joy, and God in everything, and I held tight to those moments and memories. The reality of it was that God was with me, giving me what I needed to take care of all He had entrusted me with.

Life can be overwhelming, and we can suddenly feel the weight of responsibility.

Psalm 68:19 - Praise the Lord; praise God our savior! For each day He carries us in His arms.

What a blessing it is to know we are not alone in those times and that God is carrying us through. He will always provide us with what we need to make it through anything.
