Follow the Leader (God)

The scripture in the Bible talks about following Jesus, and it says, "where you go I will go".

In fact the scripture if found in Ruth 1:16 - But Ruth replied, "Don't ask me to leave or turn back. Where ever you go, I will go; wherever you live, I will live. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God."

Ruth is a young widow who shows unwavering faith to her mother in law, Naomi, who is also a widow. Ruth said, no I will not go back I want to move forward in time and I want to do that with you. This is a good depiction of how we as Christians should be. No matter the task, big or small, we should say, "where you go I will go", "I'm here Lord, send me."

Would you or are you willing to leaven everything, if need be, to follow Jesus. When we become new believers that is what we are saying. I leave me old self behind to follow you God and become new in You. What if you are a believer, are you willing to leave everything behind if God called you to? Tough question for sure.

I heard a guy say something along the lines of when we hold on to things, we are wanting o hold on to them for the security and control. But when we let go and go do what God wants of us we have learned that our security lies with God and we know that He is in control.

This is something my husband had to learn two times. God's timing is not our and the first time was rough but the second time was harder. But because we were faithful and knew that if God called us, then He will see us through. We are in the midst of what He called us to and watching Him see us through. Its amazing peace to know that God is in control and that His promises are true.

Genesis 28:15 says, "What's more, I am with you, and I will protect you wherever you go. One day I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have finished giving your everything, I have promised you."

This verse is a source of comfort and encouragement. It reminds us that God is in control, no matter what may come.

When we have faith in God that things will work out for the best, our peace will be unparalleled.

God calls us to go and follow Him whole heartedly. We need to remember daily that God is ALWAYS with us. He is our guide. He is our leader. He knows all things. His ways are better than our ways.

We must daily ask God to lead and direct us.
