Scripture leading to Christmas, Day 7

For this week we will discuss 7 different Bible verses to read leading up to Christmas Day.

Today we have our last verse for this week leading up to Christmas. Verse #7

Let’s really think about these verses during this time and remember that Jesus is really who we are celebrating during this season.

Luke 2:11 - The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!

This is what the Angel comes and tells the Shepherds were in the field.

Once they hear the Good News they can’t wait to get there and see the Messiah and then they go and tell everyone they see about all that has happened.

This is the true reason for the season.

Christmas isn’t about shopping or opening gifts or even spending time with loved ones. It’s about Christ’s birth and the hope He brings.

Luke 2:12-14 And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.” Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying, “Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”

I bet this was awesome!! A vast number of angels came and sang while the shepherds stood there getting to get a glimpse of heaven.

Thinking about it is overwhelming. I am amazed by it.

If you are looking to read the Birth of Jesus this Christmas season you can read it in the Book of Luke in the New Testament in the Bible. Start in Luke 1 and read through the end of Luke 2.
