Pray Once, Pray Often

One of the most significant reasons we pray is to a testament to our level of faith. Sure, we could simply claim to have faith, live according to the Word but without prayer, we'll find ourselves further away from God. That's our direct communication method with our Heavenly Father. If we pray for something in our lives (or someone else's) just once, it will most likely be soon forgotten (at least until we need God to intervene again). But if we pray repeatedly for an issue, we'll find ourselves drawing closer to God.

Jesus led as much by example as anything else and that includes prayer. He prayed on many occasions both publicly and privately.

Luke 5:16 "But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed."

He undoubtedly knew the disciples would mimic his behavior and actions so He knew to act on His words for all to see and copy.

And Jesus made it clear just how powerful prayer is.

Mark 11:24 "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."

And again, our testament to faith is made all the more significant when we pray in private.

Mathew 6:6 "But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you."

Pray as often as possible. God wants to hear from us.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 "Rejoice always, pray continually give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."
