Modern conveniences can take away our focus from our faith...if we let them

Have you ever been running late for church on Sunday morning and rather than show up ten minutes after the sermon has begun, catching it on TV seems like a good alternative? Only, that single Sunday exception soon becomes a regular habit. Then, you're not making it as often (or at all). That's the devil, exploiting modern conveniences to pull us away from our faith.

1 Peter 5:8 "Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour."

And likewise, if you've ever been trying to find a location in an area you're not familiar with, to help yourself not miss a turn, you inevitably turn the radio down to not miss a street-sign or intersection. Memes have been around for years making light of this. But there's actually some science behind this phenomenon. The added distraction of a blaring radio, keeps you from concentrating (and becoming lost in the process). The same thing applies to our lives as Christians.

Psalm 119:105 "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."

God is the best GPS we could ask for.
